On November 6th and 7th Container Solutions will be in Berlin. Adrian Mouat, Chief Scientist at Container Solutions, will give a talk "Achieving Zen through Bundling with Docker".

Adrian will give a look at how Docker can be used to provide specialised environments catering to niche requirements by wrapping applications along with their dependencies and configuration. For example, imagine starting on a new software-development project and being given a container holding an IDE configured with the coding standards, plug-ins and repositories used by the project rather than spending days getting a working environment up and running.

The talk will explore this technique and its potential benefits and applications, centring around a demonstration of using Docker and a customised version of Vim to provide a "writeroom" like writing environment.

Adrian Mouat is the Chief Scientist for Container Solutions. He has recently worked developing a Docker based PaaS solution for a hosting company and has written several successful blogs on Docker. He is currently writing a book on Docker for O'Reilly publishing.
